Professional skier, author of "When I Saw Heaven" and "Back Up On Skis," Olympic hopeful

Killed in ski accident

It was a cold, snowy day at Winter Park Ski Resort. Aubrie Mindock was in first place going into her second run during a Giant Slalom competition when tragedy struck.

At speeds around 70 miles per hour Aubrie's ski binding malfunctioned, sending Aubrie head first into the hard, icy snow. She died instantly.

While the ski patrol worked to bring Aubrie back, Aubrie found herself in Heaven, with God and her grandfather who had died several months before her accident.

"When I Saw Heaven" is the sequel book to "Back Up On Skis." Both books are about her incredible journey to overcome adversity and fight for the sport she loves most, skiing.

Aubrie's books can be purchased on Amazon.
