I cannot remember a time when I was not on skis. From the beginning I was destined to be a skier. I remember my first day on skis. Clearly, I remember at only 2 years old, carrying my little white skis to my front yard, then eventually to Loveland. From the moment I put my foot in a binding I fell in love with the sport.
If you are coming to Breckenridge this season to learn to ski I highly suggest that you take a lesson! Skiing is a very difficult sport and it is important to learn from a professional! Breckenridge has wonderful ski instructors who will help you get on the expert runs in no time. They will also guide you to the runs that are appropriate for your skill level and keep you safe while you enjoy learning a new sport.
Breckenridge is my favorite place to ski. Not only do I know the area well, Breck has a lot to offer when it comes to skiers of all levels. Of course I spend the majority of my time up high. Rarely do I go on groomers, unless I am training or have friends or family with me who cannot ski tougher stuff. If you are an expert skier Breckenridge has plenty of steep bowls and good tree lines for you to explore.
If you are a local and have children I highly recommend Breckenridge Bombers or a ski team! I started off with Team Summit in Copper but eventually switched to Team Breck. Team Breck was awesome and that is where I really developed my skills. If you want your kids to become good skiers and maybe one day turn pro then get them on a team.
Breckenridge has always been my home and always will be my home. I have skied many different areas and traveled the world for my sport but home will always be Breckenridge, Colorado.
