Aubrie Mindock

Professional skier, author of "When I Saw Heaven" and "Back Up On Skis," Olympic hopeful

I have a plan. My plan is perfect.

I learned to ski at the age of 2 at Loveland ski resort in Colorado. Well, first in my backyard then Loveland. By the age of 5 I won my first little kid ski race and it was then that I knew that I wanted to be a professional skier. That young, I did not know the word professional but I knew that all I wanted to do was ski and race and ski forever.

By the time I was 12 I was training hard for the Olympics and by 15 I was well on my way. By age 19 I was right on track when it all happened but tragedy struck. I died in a giant slalom ski race at Winter Park. I went to Heaven and this is where my story begins.

While I was in Heaven I heard God speaking to me. God said, "Aubrie," Yes, he calls us all by name."I have a plan. My plan is perfect. Trust me. Trust in my plan." I remember knowing that whatever happened, whether or not I came back to earth, that God had everything taken care of and I did not have to worry. All I had to do was follow.

Upon coming back I knew that I needed to reach out to others and share my story because I want you to know that God loves you so much. His love for you is so strong and powerful that it can never, ever be defeated. Nothing can take away the love our Lord has for us, nothing at all. I decided to speak because I want everyone to know that no matter what Jesus loves you.

It does not matter who you are, God loves you. He loves us at our best and at our worst. He loves us when we are sinning and He loves us when we are forgiven. God loves each and every one of us so much that He created a very special plan for you. He wants you to be happy and His plan for your life is something special.

As my lifeless body was on the snow I had no idea that God's plan for me was to become an author and to speak about His love for us. I had no clue what so ever that I would be sharing my story and talking about things that very few have ever seen or experienced. I do not know why God chose me. I have no clue why it was me that saw Heaven but what I do know is that it is all part of His plan.

We do not alway know why bad things happen to us. Sometimes we don't understand how God could take whatever situation we are in and make it better. What I do know is that whatever it is you are facing, lean on God. Pray and just follow. Do not worry about what could happen or what the future holds because God has it all taken care of. His plan is perfect and it is best to trust Him.
